Shaquille O’Neal is not a gentle being. Piss him off and he might show up at a New York City club years later, getting the crowd to chant about your backside. And it might just be hilarious. In a video posted on TMZ last night, he renews an old feud with former teammate Kobe Bryant, who just lost the NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics. “Kobe, you can’t do it without me,” Shaq raps. While he’s at it, he blames Kobe for his divorce for a remark Bryant made years ago about O’Neal sleeping around.
The best part, though, is when Shaq seizes on a line of his freestyle that he likes and turns it into a chorus: “Kobe, tell me how my ass tastes.”
Somewhere, t-shirts are being printed. There are more than enough people who hate the Lakers to take this newly coined meme all the way to the bank. And hey, sub out the part about Kobe and this catch-phrase will know no bounds.
Shaq protested in a follow-up interview that he had nothing against Kobe, and plugged his rap career while he was at it:
“[D]on’t forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I’m a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was rapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don’t make something out of nothing.”
Meanwhile, it bears repeating. “Everybody! Kobe! Tell me how my ass tastes.”
